  1. the mantra is to get as many backlinks as you can, since if you are the one that have more backlinks you’ll be huge.

  2. but this wont work if the sites that link you is not seen by google. I did submitted my sites onto hundreds of free directories. and yet my site still rank at 0. While my other site, only had 4 backlinks from a few friends blogger had a pagerank 1. Ironic on how it works. So, having backlink from quality web gives you more pagerank. Anyway nice guide for newbie like me. thanks
