   I always prefer to have a look at Google trends before selecting an keyword

   Google have also introduced google suggest,a new service to help the webmaster for selecting better keywords

   Another good way to get more ideas about a related keyword is to use yahoo search,Just go a search in yahoo and make a note of the other suggested keywords.Then use all those keywords in google treands to see the traffic/usage details and choose an appropriate keyword

2. Yes key word tracking is a very good way to optimize our sites.I generally use freely available like overture.com or google adword key word tracker to get my job done and then use them in my blog and H1 tags to optimize my site.ya,as said above keywords are dynamic things and keep changing every time.So better check always.Some times it is easy to come on top of yahoo than goggle for some key words..i dont know why this happens?I am looking for some clue on this topic.

3. I have done some logntail keyword research too for very similar kewrords. Mine were web hosting and michigam web hosting came up with a lot of searches too. What is up with Michigan? I started making a page with those keywords in it because the search term id do popular. I was woundering why it is so popular do you by any chance know? Maybe Michigan is a very popular place for web design and web hosting. I don’t know, I’m kind of new to the subject and am learning more all the time. Let me know what you think.
